Breaking the mafia and market syndicates is difficult but not impossible

Acting Chairman of BNP, Tarek Rahman said, due to the increase in the prices of daily commodities, the poor and middle class people in the country are currently in dire straits. The interim government should take practical and strict measures to control the prices of daily commodities. The mafia syndicate must be broken.

Breaking the mafia and market syndicates is difficult but not impossible. The size of the Advisory Council can be increased if necessary. On Friday (October 18, 2024 AD), he said these things while joining (Virtually) the discussion meeting on the occasion of Ziaur Rahman Foundation’s Silver Jubilee at the Institute of Engineers in Dhaka.

He also said that the government needs to be careful. Any initiative of the interim government will not succeed with the fascist mafia and their henchmen in important positions. Interim government should be people-oriented. Any reform without public participation does not yield good results. Failure to set priorities can cause the anticipated democratic transition to stumble.
