Some are trying to take advantage by breaking the name of the party: none of them represent BNP

The Senior Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, stated that some individuals are trying to take advantage by using the party’s name. After the significant event of August 5, when the oppressed people of the country have been inspired by the thought of a golden future for 16 years, the BNP believes that everyone should be aware of some people within and around our party, who are opportunistic and playing a benefit-seeking role. He made these remarks during a press conference organized at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka on Friday (October 11, 2024).

He further said that a conspiracy was arranged to extinguish the nationalist power through false cases and fabricated sentences against the party leader Begum Khaleda Zia, party chief Tarique Rahman, and six million leaders and activists of the BNP. Many, driven by personal interests, left the country during this time of oppression while the leaders and activists, burdened by the pressure of persecution and facing destruction, found themselves helpless. In this difficult time, many were unaware of the situation. Following the changes after August 5, the party has learned from various sources that some are trying to preserve their interests, influencing the administration in their favor through various means.

He pointed out that some individuals are attempting to take advantage of the situation by targeting public administration, police, and various media houses while misusing the party’s name. However, these people lived peacefully and safely abroad while the leaders and activists faced torture during the party’s difficult times. He noted that even after August 5, someone is still dying every day in hospitals across Bangladesh. He stressed that the brutalities and propaganda of fascism have not diminished, and he urged everyone, especially journalists and those in relevant institutions, to remain vigilant against such individuals, stating that they do not represent the BNP.
