The government has constituted a ‘Special Cell on Mass Uprising’ to compile the final list of martyrs in the historic July-August student uprising. Meanwhile, the list of names of martyrs received by the Health Services Department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare through public-private hospitals and district committees has been published on www.hsd.gov.bd and www.dghs.gov.bd web pages.

Between 15th July and 5th August 2024 during the mass uprising, killed or disappeared or buried as disinherited bodies after participating in the student movement or who died of injuries while undergoing treatment or died in any other way while involved in the movement but whose name is not included in the said list, applications are being invited for enrollment.

It should be noted that the family member or relative of the concerned dead and missing person along with the national identity card or birth registration certificate, permanent and current address and appropriate proof should apply to the concerned Deputy Commissioner or the team leader of the special cell.

From November 12 to November 24, 2024, applications can be sent directly to the address – 2nd Floor, Building No-2, BSL Office Complex (Hotel Intercontinental), 1 Mintu Road, Dhaka-1000.
