Scholars have strong ties to public engagement and society

Religious advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said, there is a strong bond between scholars and public involvement and society. He said these things in the chief guest’s speech at the Khulna Islamic Foundation divisional office on Saturday (November 9, 2024 AD) in the discussion meeting on the topic of establishing communal harmony and solving social problems.

The religious adviser said, Imam-Khatibs are respected by people. They are working hard to develop good character traits of people through Friday sermons and waj-nasihat. In the same way, they are playing a role in preventing the negative aspects of human character. Scholars have a great role to play in solving all the diseases that exist in the society.

The religious adviser also said that due to the hard work of scholars and scholars, a favorable environment for Islam has been created in Bangladesh. They also encouraged people to protect communal harmony. The Adviser promised to take initiative in determining a respectable salary structure for Imam-Muezzins. Besides, he expressed his determination to transform the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque into a beautiful, beautiful and religious mosque like other iconic mosques in the world.

He said that the government has taken responsibility of the country in a very delicate situation. We are slowly making progress. Development of the country is not possible without communal harmony. National progress and development is bound to be disrupted if there is conflict between caste or religion. Therefore, the government is working to protect communal harmony on a priority basis. Ulama-keram have a great role in this.

He also said that Bangladesh is traditionally a country of communal harmony. People of various ethnic groups and religions live in this country. This is the diversity of Bangladesh. Every citizen has equal rights in our constitution. The Government holds this tradition of communal harmony in high esteem, has been cherishing it and will continue to cherish it in the future.

He said, some miscreants or permanent vested interests sometimes continue to destroy this communal harmony. The government is committed to fight these miscreants. The advisor said, the government has taken responsibility for three months. The economy is improving. Reserves have already increased. The economy of Bangladesh will be strong in the coming days.

In the exchange meeting held under the chairmanship of Md. Yusup Ali, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the advisor’s private secretary, Chadiq Ahmad, among others Khulna Divisional Director of Local Government Md. Tabibur Rahman, Divisional Director of Islamic Foundation Muhammad Jalal Ahmed gave speeches. More than three hundred local scholars participated in this meeting.
