Sharmeen S. Murshid, Adviser on Women and Child Affairs, said, “We came to demand social change and got rubble in the name of development.” The interim government has started an anti-corruption drive to remove the rubble. Therefore, a concerted effort of all is needed to realize the dream of building a new Bangladesh.
The advisor made this call in his chief guest speech at a seminar on the presentation of the results of a study conducted by Research Initiatives Bangladesh at Gulshan Alok Hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday (October 22, 2024).
Professor Raonak Jahan, member of the Board of Directors of Research Initiatives Bangladesh, presided over the seminar. ‘Closing Gaps: Assessing Access to Government Services by Minorities, Women, Persons with Disabilities and Youth: Barriers and Future Directions’ was conducted under the auspices of CPJ.
Manzoor Hasan, Executive Director of Center for Peace and Justice (CPJ) of BRAC University, Faras Kabir, Country Director of Action Aid, as discussants in the seminar. Ruhi Naz, assistant director of Research Initiatives Bangladesh and representative of Bangladesh National Human Rights Commission and civil society organizations presented their speeches as discussants of the main speech.
