Religious advisor. AFM Khalid Hossain said, there is no alternative to Islamic books in developing the ideals and consciousness of Islam. The advisor said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Book Fair-2024 in East Sahan of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque of the capital on Tuesday (October 22, 2024) afternoon. Islamic Foundation organized this fair on the occasion of Holy Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH) 1446 Hijri.

The religious adviser said that books play a role in shaping people’s character and life. The role of Islamic books in shaping an ideal life is immense. This book fair will play an important role in making people accustomed to the Islamic lifestyle from the secular environment. Besides, this book fair will add new dimension in the field of Bengali language and literature and translation literature.

Reminiscing about his educational life, the adviser said that the biographies of the Sahaba Keram were included in the earlier textbooks. But now a large number of such books have been published by creative publishers and creative translators and readers are getting the opportunity to collect them and seek knowledge. Islamic and Bengali translation literature is getting rich in it. He assured the publishers about organizing large-scale Islamic book fairs in the future.

The advisor applauded the efforts of the Director General of Islamic Foundation, Book Publishers and Sellers and Secretary General of Bangladesh Mosque Mission in organizing the book fair.
Under the chairmanship of Director General of Islamic Foundation, Md. Saiful Islam, Secretary of Religion Md. Hamid Jamaddar spoke as a special guest on the occasion.

Among others, Secretary General of Bangladesh Mosque Mission. Muhammad Khalilur Rahman Madani, the principal of Tamirul Millat. Abu Yusuf Khan, Md. Hafizur Rahman of Modern Publications, Mahmudul Hasan Tushar of Rahnuma Publications spoke. Note that the book fair will continue for 20 days. A total of 151 stalls participated in it.
