Legal Adviser Professor Asif Nazrul said, The fact that the President has said that the Prime Minister has not submitted his resignation is a kind of contradiction, it is a violation of his oath and it raises questions about whether he is qualified to hold the post or not.

He himself said in his address to the nation at 11:20 pm on August 5 with three army chiefs behind him, that the former prime minister submitted his resignation letter to him and he accepted it.

On Monday (October 21, 2024), he said this in response to questions from journalists in his office at the Secretariat.

He also said that in view of the resignation of the Prime Minister and the dissolution of the National Assembly by the President, an interim government can be formed. Based on this opinion of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court we send a note from the Ministry to the Office of the President. The President has seen and accepted this opinion.
After that he formed the interim government himself.

Legal advisor Asif Nazrul said, ‘If you speak your own words in front of the whole nation, it is self-contradiction. It falls under the level of misconduct. Then comes the question, do you actually have the mental capacity to hold the office of President? These questions may come up. He has created the opportunity for these questions to come.
