During the quota reform movement, a person named Ahadul Islam was shot and beaten in a case of attempted murder The High Court has granted anticipatory bail to ZI Khan Panna, senior advocate of the Supreme Court and chairperson of human rights organization Law and Justice Centre.

A High Court Division Bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hussain granted anticipatory bail to ZI Khan Panna pending the submission of the police report after appearing in court on Monday (21 October 2024 AD).

Senior lawyer Ahsanul Karim heard on behalf of ZI Khan Panna in the court.

After bail, ZI Khan Panna said, “Maybe this case of attempted murder has been filed to silence my conscience or my mouth.” But even if I die, neither my conscience nor my mouth will be closed.
