The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court disposed of the ‘review’ petition filed by the state against the verdict of repealing the 16th Amendment.
As a result of this verdict, if any complaint of incompetence and professional misconduct is raised against a judge, the Supreme Judicial Council can investigate and take action, according to the lawyers of the Supreme Court.

As a result of this judgment, the repeal of the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution was upheld and the power to remove judges returned from Parliament to the Supreme Judicial Council.
