Handover of 11 Aerial Platform Ladder Vehicles to Fire Service

Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has handed over 11 aerial platform ladder vehicles to Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense. Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Farooq e Azam Vir Prateek was present as the chief guest in this handover ceremony held at Purbachal Multipurpose Training Complex of Fire Service on Saturday (19 October 2024 AD). Of the 11 aerial platform ladder vehicles handed over to Fire Service and Civil Defence, 5 vehicles are 38 meters high, 4 vehicles are 56 meters high and 2 vehicles are 64 meters high.

Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq e Azam Vir Prateek said in a speech on the occasion Fire service and civil defense are the first responders in all disasters, so these equipments will play a helpful role in extinguishing multi-storied buildings and rescuing trapped people. In the future, the capacity building of fire service and civil defense will continue.

The Chief Guest handed over the replica of the car key to the Director General of Fire Service. Later, the Chief Guest along with others observed the operational activities of a handed over vehicle.

Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Secretary Md. Kamrul Hasan presided over the event as a special guest Managing Director of Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited (BMTF) Major General Md. Nahid Asghar and Director General (DG) of Fire Service and Civil Defense Brigadier General Muhammad Zaheed Kamal. Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Directorate of Disaster Management, Fire Service and Officers of various ranks of Civil Defense Department and BMTF Limited were present.
