To protect Nalitabari and Jhenaigati from the uphill landslides and floods, All the parts of Chellakhali and Maharshi river banks have already been damaged.

The Secretary directed the officials of the Water Development Board to quickly start the work of removing the char and silt accumulated in the river along with placing geo bags and sand-cement mix bags at those places. Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Water Development Board Enayet Ullah, Dhaka Zone Chief Engineer Md. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Commissioner of Sherpur Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman, Water Development Board Tangail Circle Supervising Engineer Sirajul Islam, Executive Engineer Naqibuzzaman Khan along with local administration and Water Development Board officials were present.
