Chinese Navy ships ‘Chi Ji Guang’ and ‘Jing Gang Shan’ have arrived in Bangladesh on a four-day goodwill visit. Chief Staff Officer Captain M. Asaduzzaman on behalf of the Commander Chittagong Naval Region welcomed the ship ‘Chi Ji Guang’, one of the two visiting ships of the Chinese Navy, when it arrived at Chittagong Port on Saturday (12 October 2024 AD). During this time, the well-equipped navy band played the band in traditional style. Among others, the ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and other representatives of the local Navy were present to welcome the ship.
Note that the other visiting ship ‘Jing Gang Shan’ will stay at Chittagong outer anchorage during the tour. Earlier, when the two ships arrived in the waters of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Navy ship Banouja Samudra Abhiyan welcomed them. Chinese Navy ships ‘Chi Ji Guang’ (163.5 meters in length) and ‘Jing Gang Shan’ (210 meters in length) led by Chinese Navy Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Zhai Bauran and Rear Admiral Sun Zhongyi paid a courtesy visit to Bangladesh.
During their stay in Bangladesh, a delegation including Fleet Commander of Chinese Navy, Ship Captain, Ambassador of Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and other officials will pay courtesy call on Commander Chittagong Naval Region, Commander BN Fleet, Chairman Chittagong Port Authority and Commandant of Bangladesh Naval Academy.
Officers, sailors and trainees of the ship while stationed in Chittagong Naval Region will visit various historical and sightseeing places of Chittagong, Banouja Isha Khan, Bangladesh Naval Academy and BN Ashar Alo School established for children with special needs. Besides, Bangladesh Navy officials and sailors will also inspect the ship ‘Chi Ji Guang’. The visit of the Chinese Navy ship to Chittagong is expected to further strengthen the cordial bilateral relations between the two countries.
