Home Affairs Adviser urges traditionalists to spontaneously celebrate Durga Puja

Adviser on Home Affairs Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) has called upon all Sanatan religious people to spontaneously celebrate Durga Puja. The advisor made this call in his speech as the chief guest at the ‘Bodhan and Abode of Durga Devi’ in the evening of Mahashtira organized by the Baridhara DOHS Puja Committee at the Baridhara DOHS Convention Center in the capital on Wednesday night (October 09, 2024 AD). The advisor said that various steps have been taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs so that the followers of Sanatan religion can celebrate puja peacefully and undisturbed. Eight-point instructions have already been sent to the field administration and law enforcement forces from the ministry. Besides, sufficient members of Police, RAB and Ansar along with BGB have been deployed at the border to maintain law and order during Durga Puja. Besides, Army, Navy and Air Force have been deployed with magisterial powers. Jahangir Alam said, we Bangladeshis are a peaceful nation. Bangladesh has always supported the establishment of peace and humanity by stopping wars and conflicts around the world. He said, peace is the main message of all religions of the world. The advisor called upon the Sanatan devotees to pledge their prayers for the establishment of an exploitation-free, discrimination-free and welfare-oriented state on Durga Puja.
The Home Affairs Adviser said that the current government has many challenges. One of the challenges is to further improve the law and order situation – maintaining peace, order and stability in the society. For that purpose, the government is working relentlessly.
He thanked all concerned including Baridhara DOHS Puja Committee for successfully organizing the Puja.
