Maritime sector has immense potential for Bangladesh

Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain said, “Bangladesh Marine Academy is a great asset of the country. The maritime sector is a huge field of infinite potential. Much of our foreign exchange comes from the maritime sector. Marine cadets and sailors earn huge foreign exchange by serving in domestic and foreign ships, which is contributing significantly to our economy.
Therefore, Marine cadets are involved in the economic development of the country. Marine Academy cadets are internationally trained. The adviser said these things while inspecting the parade of cadets of Bangladesh Marine Academy at Anwara, Chittagong on Monday (07 October 2024 AD). Meanwhile, the Shipping Adviser stressed on the cadets to complete their training in co-curriculum education along with academic education with discipline and discipline. Earlier, the advisor visited Bangladesh Marine Academy’s ongoing project and simulator. At this time the advisor provides necessary guidance regarding the progress of the project work. After the visit, the Shipping Advisor attended an exchange meeting with the officials of Bangladesh Marine Academy, Chittagong at the Officers Club.
At that time the Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping Md. Muhidul Islam, Managing Director of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Commodore Mahmudul Malek, Principal Officer of the Department of Shipping Captain Sabbir Mahmud along with the officials of the academy were present.
