Case against 19 people including former railway minister in Panchagarh

As a young man named Al Amin has been missing for three months, Manu Mia, the father of the missing Al Amin, has filed a case against 19 people, including former railway minister and former member of Parliament from Panchagarh-2 constituency Nurul Islam Sujan, accusing him of missing the body. On Sunday (November 10, 2024), Manu Mia, a resident of Darjipara area of ​​Panchagarh Sadar Upazila filed this case at Panchagarh Sadar Police Station. Besides, there are 150 other unnamed defendants.

The family believes that he was kept missing after being killed for taking part in the August revolution in Panchagarh. Meanwhile, three months of the July-August revolution have passed since the son has not been found and the family has filed a case and sought the help of the administration to get the son back.

According to the statement of the case, Al Amin, son of Manu Mia, a resident of Darjipara area of ​​Panchagarh Sadar Upazila, is a rickshaw driver by profession. He participated in the July August Revolution in Panchagarh anti-discrimination student movement. Al Amin left home on the morning of August 5 and took part in the anti-discrimination student movement at Panchagarh Chowrangi intersection. He was arrested in front of Chhatra League General Secretary Sadman Sadiq Patwari Plaban’s house on his way home with two people at noon.

Later, he was attacked on the orders of Awami League leaders. Al Amin was hit with a sharp weapon. He was then dragged to the house of Chhatra League leader Plaban in Hichre.
Raihanul Islam Rifat and Sujan Islam, who were with Al Amin, were rescued by locals and admitted to Panchgarh Modern Sadar Hospital.

Meanwhile, Al Amin’s family started searching if he did not return home at night. They also made a general diary at the police station on August 14. Meanwhile, Al Amin’s father, after learning about this incident through Rifat and Sujon, filed a case against the leaders and activists of Awami League and its subsidiary organizations. In this regard, Panchagarh Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Masud Parvez said, since the filing of the case, our operation is continuing to arrest all the accused.
