Police have arrested Arif Ishtiaq (38), a member of the inter-district motorcycle fraud gang, on the charge of stealing a motorcycle by cheating in Tarakanda, Mymensingh. On Sunday (November 10, 2024), the arrested accused was sent to Mymensingh learned court. Earlier on Saturday (November 09, 2024 AD) Arif Ishtiaq was arrested by SI Chandan Sarkar and ASI Saiful Islam of Tarakanda police station from bypass area under Kotwali Thana of Mymensingh Sadar Upazila. Arrested Arif Ishtiaq of Comilla District, Langkot Upazila, Pujkara village. Son of Zainal Abedin.

SI Chandan Sarkar, SI of Tarakanda police station and investigating officer of the case said,
Arif Ishtiaq along with Pulsar N16 black color motorcycle was arrested from Mymensingh’s Kotwali police station area on the basis of secret information under the direction of Tarakanda police station officer-in-charge based on the clear complaint of the plaintiff.

Arif Ishtiaq acquired the motorcycle by fraud a few months ago. He stole cash and the motorcycle from the plaintiff on the pretense of selling a private car and disappeared. He also said that the arrested Arif Ishtiaq has been arrested and handed over to the learned court after filing a case at Tarakanda police station.
