LC is deciding to raise the margin on import of essential commodities during fasting including edible oil, sugar, gram, pulses, dates. It will be possible to control the prices of daily commodities during fasting. Even though Dhaka has expanded since independence, till now Tejgaon and Kaptan Bazar are the only two places where eggs are found.

For the convenience of consumers, an initiative has been taken to sell eggs directly at 6 sub centers in Dhaka North City Corporation and 7 sub centers in South City Corporation from Sunday. Marginal farmers are allegedly suffering due to contract farming. Initiatives are being taken to make production and marketing easier by liberating farmers from the culture of receiving chicks, feed and vaccines from corporate institutions. Consumers and farmers are expected to benefit through this. The government has the authority and power to take measures on behalf of the people in a state owned by the people for the welfare of the people. So there is no reason to be alarmed if the government takes any initiative to break the syndicate.

From small and large products to media, newspapers, everything is under their control. All types of syndicates should be broken to control commodity prices and all traders should be given equal opportunities.
