2 arrested for giving fake seal in constable recruitment exam

In Mymensingh, police have arrested two persons on the charge of giving fake accomplishment seal in PET form without participating in the race of constable recruitment exam. Those arrested are:
Rakibul Islam Imon (19) son of Azharul Islam of Mashakhali village of Pagla police station area of ​​Gafargaon upazila and Mofizul Haque alias Ebadul (54) son of deceased Mobarak Hossain of College Road area of ​​the same police station.

This information was informed in a press release sent from the district intelligence branch office on Thursday (07 November 2024) afternoon. Earlier on Wednesday night, Mofizul Haque alias Ebadul was arrested in front of College Road Alal Market in Gafargaon town and Rakibul Islam Imon was arrested in front of Tangail Sweets restaurant in Jamtala Mor area of ​​that town.

The press release further informed, During the third day of the Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC) recruitment test held at the Mymensingh District Police Lines on November 3, the officer in-charge of the dragging event noticed that some PET forms were given functional seals made using relatively large fonts. 8 such candidates were removed from the event and taken to a separate location for questioning.

In the interrogation they said that, An unidentified person lured them from outside the boundary of Police Lines to stamp the 1600m race event without participating and in exchange of money issued ‘Krittak’ on everyone’s form. Later these 8 candidates were declared ineligible for the TRC recruitment examination immediately.

Later, on the orders of the Superintendent of Police, Gafargaon and Pagla Police Station conducted a raid and arrested the manufacturer and supplier Mofizul Haque alias Ebadul. Based on the information given by him, neighbor Rakibul Islam arrested Iman. Later, according to their evidence, the seal with the wording of the act was seized from the front of the CID office adjacent to the Police Lines of Mymensingh city.

The press release also mentioned that legal action against those detained is pending.
