The International Criminal Tribunal has issued an arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity. On Thursday (October 17, 2024), the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Md. The order was passed by a judicial panel headed by Golam Mortuza Majumdar.

On this day, the court issued this order taking into account the prosecution’s application for the genocide and crimes against humanity committed in July-August to eradicate the anti-discrimination student movement. Chief Prosecutor Advocate Mohammad Tajul Islam applied for the arrest warrant. The Chief Prosecutor was accompanied by Prosecutor Gazi Monawar Hussain Tamim and Prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud.

Chief Prosecutor Advocate Mohammad Tajul Islam said that the next date of the case is November 18, but if the accused is arrested before then, it can be presented separately.
