A representative group of ‘We are BNP Parivar’ exchanged views with the family members of Shaheed Mehedi Hasan Rabbi at the Gulli of Chhatra League-Jubileeg leaders-activists in Magura during the mass movement of the students in the 2024 uprising. On behalf of Bangladesh Nationalist Dal-BNP Acting Chairman and main sponsor of ‘Amra BNP Parivar’ Tarek Rahman, the delegation exchanged views with the family members of District Chhatra Dal leader Shahid Rabbi of Magura. A total of 10 martyrs and 1 injured family, including the family of the martyred Rabbi, were given financial assistance in Magura.
On Sunday (November 10, 2024 AD) afternoon, the martyred Rabbi was visited at Varunatail village of Magura municipality and exchanged views with his bereaved family members.
BNP treasurer and advisor of ‘Amra BNP Parivar’ M Rashiduzzaman Millat was present as chief guest and special guest was Atiqur Rahman Rumon, convener of ‘Amra BNP Parivar’ and member of BNP media cell.
Mehdi Hasan Rabbi stood in the front row of the procession to ensure the safety of the protesting students on August 4 during the mass movement of the students. The senior joint-convener of Magura District Chhatra Dal was martyred in the firing of Chhatra League-Jubilig leaders-activists there. Mehedi Hasan Rabbi son of deceased Moin Uddin Biswas of Varunatail village of Magura municipality.
Martyr Mehedi Hasan Rabbi’s wife Rumi Khatun and younger brother Idris Hossain Biswas said that the Rabbi lost his life not by the police, but by BCL-Julig leaders and activists. At least 20 people were injured, including Khalid Biswas, the nephew of the rabbi who was in the movement. Martyr Mehdi Hasan Rabbi got married last May. Before starting a family, an assassin’s bullet took his life in the July uprising. In the meantime, the memories left by the rabbi have come into the womb of his wife Rumi Khatun. Not only is the rabbi gone, answering the call to save the country, forever.
