Urgent treatment of those injured in the anti-discrimination movement with utmost importance

Health and Family Welfare Adviser Noorjahan Begum and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam exchanged views with those injured in the anti-discrimination movement. This exchange meeting was held on Sunday (October 20, 2024 AD) in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health.

Health and Family Welfare Adviser participating in the meeting said that the injured in the anti-discrimination movement are being treated with utmost importance. Treatment initiatives have also been taken by bringing expert doctors from abroad. Measures have also been taken to eliminate bureaucratic complications in order to provide speedy treatment to the injured. Strict action will be taken against those concerned if there is any negligence in the treatment of the injured in the anti-discrimination movement.

Warning against corruption in the health sector, he said that any type of corruption will not be tolerated in the health sector. Immediate action will be taken against those who commit corruption. Information and Broadcasting Adviser said in the exchange meeting, those who were injured in the anti-discrimination movement should not only be assured, but effective measures should be taken for their proper treatment. Referring to the instructions of the chief adviser, he said that the government will bear the money required for the treatment of the injured. The government has that capability.

Urging to give utmost importance to the treatment of the injured, the adviser said, they should work together in their treatment, so that they do not have to come to the government a second time.
Many of those injured in the anti-discrimination movement are psychologically devastated. He emphasized on providing psychological counseling to the mentally disturbed.

He also said that treating the injured cannot be considered as routine work. He urged all those involved in the treatment of the injured to work with utmost sincerity. The injured persons participated in the discussion meeting and informed about the progress of their treatment. They drew the attention of the government for better treatment and employment.

Senior Secretary of Healthcare Department MA Akmal Hossain Azad gave a speech in the meeting and July Shaheed Smriti Foundation General Secretary Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha. 60 people from different classes and professions who were injured in the anti-discrimination movement participated in the meeting.
