Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs appointed Special Prosecutor and Assistant Public Prosecutor. Out of 454 people, 351 have been appointed in Chittagong and 103 in Sylhet courts. 454 Government Law Officers namely Government Counsel (GP), Additional Government Counsel, Assistant Government Counsel, Public Prosecutor (PP), Additional Public Prosecutor, in various courts of Chittagong and Sylhet.

On Wednesday (October 16, 2024), two appointment orders were issued in this regard from the Solicitor Wing of the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. This order will be effective immediately.

A separate appointment order signed by Mahruf Hossain said, the District and Sessions Judge Courts of the two districts mentioned, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Courts and By canceling the appointment orders of all law officers previously appointed in the courts subordinate to them, the courts of special divisional judges and tribunals at various levels, they are exempted from the duties of their respective posts Provided that the advocates mentioned in the table of the new appointment order shall be examined by the District and Sessions Judges of their respective districts regarding their professional competence, experience and integrity. Section 492 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 and The Legal Remembrancer’s Manual, subject to the receipt of the report of the District Magistrate, In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Clause 1, Rule 9 and Clause 6, Rule 17 of 1960, they are temporarily appointed to the posts mentioned against their names.
