A specific plan should be adopted to build a livable Dhaka

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, said that specific action plans are needed to make Dhaka livable.
It is important to create a city vision for Dhaka. Not only should megaprojects be done, greening should be increased. There should be open space, seating, and youth sports opportunities.
He said these things as a special speaker at the discussion program organized on the occasion of ‘World Settlement Day-2024’ at Rajuk Auditorium in the capital on Monday (07 October 2024 AD).
This year’s theme was, ‘Involve the youth, build a better city’. Rizwana Hasan also said that Dhaka should be done by all people. Youth need to be involved in building a developed and eco-friendly city.
Their creativity can make cities livable. For this reason, he proposed to include the youth in the activities of Rajuk. Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan was the main speaker on the occasion. Md. Hamidur Rahman Khan, secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, spoke at the event UN Resident Coordinator Gwen Lewis and Additional Secretary Shakila Zereen Ahmed.
