Bangladesh ready to send professional, skilled workforce to Brunei

Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation : Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen paid a courtesy call on Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah who arrived saturday on his first ever visit to Bangladesh. The Foreign Minister was accompanied by with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen during the call at Hotel InterContinental. The Foreign Minister said the visit would take the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries to new heights. Highlighting the phenomenal socio-economic development in Bangladesh under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Dr. Momen explained the successful handling of the pandemic in Bangladesh. He also stressed importance of further enhancing the trade between the two countries tapping into the un-utilised potentials for mutual benefit. Lauding the contribution of the Bangladeshi expatriates in Brunei to the economy of both Bangladesh and Brunei, the Foreign Minister said Bangladesh is ready for providing required workforce to Brunei, including professional and skilled Human Resources. The Sultan admired the Bangladeshi expatriate workers in Brunei as hard working and sincere. He expressed happiness for being able to visit Bangladesh and looked forward to his engagements with the President and the Prime Minister. Taking part in the discussions, Shahriar Alam told the Sultan that Bangladesh was ready for attracting FDI and encouraged Bruneian investment in Bangladesh. Pointing to the ongoing inflationary pressures and volatility in the energy sector, the Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) stressed the importance of a stronger bilateral and regional collaboration to cope with the prevailing challenges.
